Dragon Dictation Offers More than Just Speed and Accuracy – It Can Offer Relief Too!

Since the launch of Dragon Dictation back in December, we’ve received many positive reviews and much praise for the app’s accuracy and speed. However, we’re also hearing via Tweets and blog posts about the positive impact Dragon Dictation has for those who have trouble typing, whether it’s due to a temporary injury, or a long-term physical challenge. Many have long trusted Dragon NaturallySpeaking for hands-free PC use, and we’re thrilled these benefits easily translate to the iPhone and iPod Touch. And as mobile devices like the iPhone become a key part of our daily communications arsenal – whether it’s professional or personal – ease of use is crucial. And Dragon’s core technology allows you to type up to five times faster than typing – so it’s a win-win all around.

Do you have a story you can share about how Dragon Dictation has helped you? We’d love to hear it! Feel free to share it in the comments below, or shoot us an email at mobileappfeedback@nuance.com.

Next week is the 2010 CTIA Wireless show in Las Vegas, where the latest and greatest in mobile technologies strut their stuff.  We’ll be heading out West for the big event, and could be flying home winners of the 2010 CTIA E-Tech Best Online Pick Award for Dragon Dictation for iPhone.

The CTIA Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards program was started a few years ago as an opportunity to celebrate and promote the most innovative wireless products and services in the areas of consumer, enterprise, and network technology.  Each year, nearly 300 applications are submitted and reviewed by a panel of recognized members of the media, industry analysts and executives.

It’s amazing how many of you rely on Dragon Dictation to speak emails and text messages, update your Facebook and Twitter status, write blog posts – it’s truly demonstrated how powerful, fast and accurate the app is.

To vote for Dragon Dictation, visit http://ctiait.ctia.org/etech/2010/public/index.cfm/viewEntry/720/ and click on the entry page to cast your vote for Dragon Dictation as a “Favorite”.  You will be required to register online in order to vote (only an email address is required).

Dragon Medical coming to the iPhone

Nuance unveils Dragon Medical Mobile Apps for the iPhone! See the post from Peter Mahoney below for more details.

Dragon Medical coming to the iPhone - just what the doctor ordered

The power of Dragon is spreading! And this morning’s announcement is no exception. Our Healthcare team just released some exciting news today to kick off the HIMSS conference – the introduction of Dragon Medical Mobile Apps for smartphones. These new apps can help physicians, nurses and other healthcare workers efficiently access clinical information and document patient encounters using their mobile devices.
During HIMSS this week, our Healthcare team will be showing off the new Dragon Medical Mobile Apps for smartphones, including:

Dragon Medical Mobile Dictation
Dragon Medical Mobile Search
Dragon Medical Mobile Recorder
Dragon Medical Mobile SDK

Availability of the apps is expected throughout this year, beginning in the spring of 2010.

Check out this video that illustrates how these apps work and how they benefit healthcare workers - http://www.youtube.com/user/SavetheDrNote#p/a/u/0/tRdj975lIKU

This announcement is part of our strategy to make speech accessible to even more people, from more places and devices. Our Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search Apps for iPhone are a great example of that, allowing folks to hold the power of Dragon right in their hands. Both apps rocketed to the top of the charts in the App Store shortly after launch and remain wildly popular. We also announced recently that automotive manufacturers can harness the power of Dragon to allow drivers to access dynamic real-time information and services by voice — right in their cars.

Thanks!
